The Dayton Playhouse is proud to announce details pertaining to the Pre-Festival Convocation and Dayton Playhouse Awards Ceremony.
On Thursday, July 26th, 2007 at 7:00pm the Dayton Playhouse will be sponsoring a Pre-Festival Convocation, Meet-&-Greet and will be presenting the awards from the 2006-2007 Season. This event is free and open to the public and will be the only part of FutureFest 2007 happening at the Dayton Playhouse’s Siebenthaler Ave. location (inside the Wegerzyn Metropark).
Here is a rundown of what the evening will feature:
- 7:00pm: The Pre-Festival Convocation –
“Let’s Start at the Very Beginning:
How the plays for FutureFest 2007 started…”
This convocation will feature our 6 invited playwrights from across the country. The playwrights will discuss the works that will be presented at FutureFest 2007 and how the plays got their start.
- 7:45pm: Meet & Greet with the Festival Playwrights
Next on the agenda, the Playhouse will offer the public some time to chat with the professionals in residence PRIOR to the start of our busy weekend.
- 8:00pm: Awards Ceremony to honor the 2006-2007 Blackburn, Volunteer of the Year and Executive Director Award Winners
This special evening will close with the announcement of the winners for the 2006-2007 Season Blackburn Awards. These awards are given to performers and artists throughout the season based on an audience member vote. In addition to this, the Playhouse will also honor its Volunteer of the Year winner and the recipient of the Executive Directors Award.
