Executive Director Resigns

Last modified Thu, Aug 23, 2007

The Dayton Playhouse, Inc. Board of Trustees has announced that Adam J. Leigh, Executive & Artistic Director of the theatre since 2005, has resigned to pursue another career. His resignation is effective August 31, 2007.

Leigh first became involved with the Playhouse as a FutureFest director in 2004. Under his leadership the Playhouse again became one of the premier community theatres in our region. Leigh expanded the theatre's artistic vision by creating new programs like The FLIP Side and Studio24 while revitalizing the MainStage Series and FutureFest. Leigh also worked tirelessly to improve both the artistic and technical level of the group's productions. Consequently there has been a steady increase in the number of patrons and season subscribers attending the Playhouse since 2005.

"I will never forget my experience at the Dayton Playhouse. The Playhouse community opened their hearts and their minds and went along for the ride...and I think we all learned something valuable," stated Leigh. "I want nothing but the best for this organization. The Dayton Playhouse exemplifies why I am so proud to call Dayton , Ohio , home. I am honored to have served our audience for these past two and a half years."

Leigh plans to continue to volunteer for the Dayton Playhouse. He is slated to direct the MainStage Series opener, AMADEUS.

The Dayton Playhouse Board of Trustees will soon be announcing details of a search committee to replace Leigh. For more information please watch www.daytonplayhouse.org.
