The Dayton Playhouse is currently accepting resumes for the part-time position of Executive and Artistic Director.
Job Description:
The Executive and Artistic Director will act as chief executive officer for the Dayton Playhouse and is accountable to the Board of Trustees through the Chairperson. Executive Director recommends and participates in formulation of polices and makes decisions within existing policies as approved by the Board of Trustees. Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates staff, programs, and activities to ensure that objectives are attained, plans are fulfilled, and patrons’ needs are met. Maintains effective internal and external relationships through management, leadership, and communication to achieve economical, productive performances, forward-looking programming, and constructive growth of the Dayton Playhouse.
Job Functions:
Act as a liaison between the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers and patrons. Attend board and executive committee meetings as necessary. Handle day to day operations, facility management and maintenance. Fiscal management including financial reports, bill payments, annual and production budgets. Grant proposals, preparation and execution. Partner with back-of-house volunteer coordinator for greater involvement of the volunteer force. Communication with the board, staff, volunteers and patrons. Marketing development (including creation and implementation of all publicity materials including press releases, graphic design needs, and program books) and promotes artistic development.
The position is part-time salaried. Salary may be commensurate with experience. Qualified candidates should have a degree in fine/performing arts or a minimum of 3 years artistic and management experience.
